Are you excited for Fall to be in full swing or do you miss Summer?
This year is a little weird for me! I don’t know if it is because I have been super busy but I have not gotten into Fall-mode yet, and last year I was in Fall-mode super early! So I don’t know what is going on! Also, I didn’t go swimming in the ocean at all this year and that is craziness, and I think I feel like Summer went to fast! I like it to be super hot outside if I am going in the ocean because the water temperature out here in San Diego is a bit chilly, and our hot weeks just came and went! It seemed to take awhile for it to completely warm up over here! I think I blinked too long and now it is Fall! Don’t get me wrong I am super excited that Fall is here and I am ready to get in that mode, I think it is just taking me a little longer than usual this year!
That might have been a little more than you wanted to hear about how I feel about the seasons and weather this year, let’s move onto newborn session talk hehe
A Few Things To Keep On Hand During Your Newborn Session
I always feel like the more prepared I am ahead of time, the less stressed I am. So I wanted to give out a list of items that I think are good to just have around to help make your session even more seamless!
1. Swaddle
A swaddle has a couple of purposes in a newborn session! One, they look super cute in photos! Two, if your little one is fighting sleep, a swaddle can really help because they feel nice, warm, and secure! So far, I have found that I love Copper Pearl and Solly Baby swaddles the best!
2. White Noise Machine
I always like to have a white noise machine on at my sessions! Little babes are used to it being super loud when they are in the womb, so white noise really helps relax them!
Also, music is a nice option as well! I bring along a Bluetooth speaker with me to my sessions ready to put on some tunes if you don’t already have them going!
3. Binky
A binky is always a great tool to have around to soothe your little one!
4. Burp Cloth
Burp cloths are great in case there is some drooling going on or if things get messy!
5. Diapers
You definitely want to have a couple of diapers ready for changes mid-session!
6. Wet Wipes
I feel like universally wet wipes are just good to have on hand no matter what. They are so useful for almost every situation! I usually have a package in my bag as well!
7. Water
Keep a drink close by because we keep it so warm in the house! It is nice to be able to sip on something throughout the session!
8. Snacks
I know when I get hungry I can get a bit hangry! Having a quick snack accessible, especially if you have other kiddos in the house, is always a good idea!
9. Oil Absorbing Wipe
Because it is so warm in the house for newborn sessions, I think it is a good idea to keep something to blot your face in case you get sweaty! Toilet paper works great for this too! Haha
10. An Extra Pillow
Last but not least, an extra pillow to help you sit up straight when we are taking photos on the bed! Sometimes (especially if your bed is soft), we tend to sink into the bed, this will help give you that extra boost so you don’t have to engage your abs quite as much!
Okidoki Smokie!
Think I should add anything to the list? Tell me in the comments!! Have an amazing day!
