Today’s Question: When is the best time to do Maternity and Newborn Sessions?
For Maternity Sessions I say the best time is anywhere between 30 and 34 weeks depending on how big you want your bum to be for the photos and how comfortable you are during your pregnancy!
I like to set up Newborn Sessions anywhere within the first 2 months after your little one come into the world! If you want photos when he/she is teeny tiny, squishy, and sleepy, the sooner the better (within the first 10 days), if you want him/her to be more alert and filled out a bit, wait a bit longer!
I have a lifestyle approach to my newborn sessions, which means I do minimal posing, and more prompting through your session (I will guide you opposed to telling you exactly where to put your hands, arms, etc.). I will photograph baby on his/her own as well as with the family, guiding you all through different positions and arrangements! I love newborn photos that look natural and focus on the connection between you and your babe opposed to focusing on too much posing. I love natural positions and natural expressions, in a place that feels natural to everyone, your home! Because I have this approach, we have a little extra wiggle room when it comes to timing! So, it really all depends on your preference of when you’d like you little one’s new life documented!
